After more than six months in the registration process, LMS Solutions Philippines finally secured “CEREBRO” as its official trademark.
In an issuance dated February 19, 2021, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) has released the certificate of registration of the CEREBRO trademark which was originally filed by LMS Solutions Philippines on August 8, 2020.
According to the IPOPHL website, a “trademark protects a business’ brand identity in the marketplace” and “registration of it gives the owner the exclusive rights to prevent others from using or exploiting the mark in any way.”
CEREBRO®, which is engaged in the creation of teaching materials and arranging and conducting of training courses, will have its mark protected for an initial period of 10 years up to February 19, 2031.
It is renewal for a period of another 10 years, and it “can be protected in perpetuity if regularly monitored and properly maintained,” IPOPHL says.
The mark was first used in 2014 when a group of teachers started an academic tutorial center in Cavite City, Philippines. The same company later on evolved to become LMS Solutions Philippines, which now operates the CEREBRO brand in the field of educational support services.
